Set and achieve your personal fitness goals with training, coaching, and nutrition counseling provided by our expert staff. No matter where you are on your wellness journey, the Y can help you.

Fitness Orientation

This is a great service for those who are new to the Y or those who are unfamiliar with the fitness equipment. This service is free with your membership. Members can visit the Welcome Center to schedule with a Wellness Coach or Personal Trainer.

Children ages 10-11 MUST schedule an orientation to use the cardio equipment only. Children 12-17 must have an orientation to use both cardio AND weight equipment (up to 3 sessions depending on individual need). At orientation, members will get a workout card that will be stored in the filing cabinet upstairs in the Wellness Center. There are optional orientations available for members 18+ as well. If members still want a workout card but have already had their orientation, they can get one from the Wellness Coaches or Health and Wellness Director.

Fitness orientations cover exercise safety and etiquette, equipment usage for each piece of equipment, and general exercise recommendations. Orientations are available for the Cardio Suite and the Circuit Training Room.

Cost - FREE for all members

Personal Training

YMCA Personal Training is a one-on-one session with a personal fitness trainer. Personal trainers come from a variety of wellness backgrounds and can meet your needs. Whether you are continuing physical therapy recovery, looking to train for an event, or just improving your overall well-being, our trainers will be welcoming and considerate of your needs.

Personal trainers help participants address health barriers utilizing goal-setting techniques, help participants identify obstacles, motivate participants, and offer workouts tailored to the participant's goals. Programs can be designed to accommodate a variety of areas, such as weight loss, limited ability, those new to fitness programs, strength & conditioning, and more. Your initial visit includes a review of your health history, lifestyle, and goals. Your trainer can then help you achieve goals through one-on-one attention, accountability, and expertise.
