Welcoming Week, Honoring a 175-Year Legacy of Community Connection, September 10–19, 2026

Ithaca, NY —  The YMCA of Ithaca & Tompkins County will join YMCAs across the country to celebrate Welcoming Week, September 10–19. This national celebration highlights communities that work to ensure everyone feels welcomed, valued, and connected.

For more than 175 years, the YMCA has been a place where people from all backgrounds come together to build community. Since its founding in Boston in 1851, the Y has supported individuals navigating new cities, new opportunities, and new beginnings—offering not just programs, but a place to belong. Today, the YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County continues that legacy by creating spaces for connection across cultures, generations, and experiences.

Welcoming Week is an opportunity for all neighbors to get to know one another and celebrate what unites us. The YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County will host Welcoming Week from September 10–19, 2026, at 50 Graham Road.
