Y-Mention It - 4/21 "CELEBRATING SPRING"

Spring is in the air! Wait, is that snow? Maybe not...seems like there will be one last cold snap before those May flowers. Whatever the case may be, those nice days are on the way, we just have to hold out hope a little longer, right?

In this issue of Y-Mention It, learn about upcoming summer hours, how you can help keep our community safe, and new ways to engage with your Y.

"Hi everyone, as the weather gets nicer, we at the Y would like to share this year's Summer Operating HoursWeekday hours will remain the same (6:00 AM to 8:00 PM).  Our new hours will be Saturday, 8:00 - 4:00 pm, and Sunday, 9:00 - 1:00 pm. Childwatch will be offered on both Saturday and Sunday this year. Speaking of Childwatch, as usage continues to increase, we encourage you to call ahead or book your time at the Welcome Center to ensure your child has a spot. Lastly, to make your experience better, we are building a new live calendar and reservation system. Please stay tuned for more information as we prepare to roll out a new way to experience our Y. That's all for now, have a great day!"
Emily Leviere, Senior Director of Membership and Programs

"Hi swimmers! With more members trying to use the Family Swim in the Small Pool, please be sure to reserve your time at the Welcome Center, or by calling the Y. Reservations ensure your child can swim, and that our small pool remains safe and fun for everyone. Be prepared for any situation this Spring with Red Cross Training! We're offering full Lifeguard Certifications, Recertifications, CPR and AED training, and Babysitting Training. Take a look at the Red Cross page on our website for more information. Lastly, Summer Swim Camp is open for registration! These week-long swim camps will help your swimmer improve their skill, make friends, and stay swimming this summer. Camp will be offered July 20th - 24th and August 3rd - 7th. See you there!"

Katie Prasek, Aquatics Director

"Thank you to the families, organizations, and volunteers who made Healthy Kids Day a tremendous success last weekend. It's always so much fun to bring the community together for a celebration of all of the ways we keep healthy! On the theme of playing together, we are holding our Spring Cornhole League starting May 20th for ages 18+. This league is a great way to gather some friends after work and unwind in the evening. For our younger athletes, Pre-K Gym and Swim is back, blending 45 minutes of swim lessons with 45 minutes of sports and play starting on Monday, April 27th, from 5:15 - 6:45 pm. Until next time, have a great day."
Hans Schumacher, Director of Sports and Family Programs
