Ithaca YMCA Building Closure 12/19-12/27

YMCA Facility Closure from Monday, December 19 to Tuesday, December 27, 2022

The YMCA of Ithaca is preparing for an unavoidable, facility-wide closure for the repair of a deteriorating water main into the building. We understand that this is not ideal for our members and deeply apologize for this inconvenience.

This repair requires turning off the water into the facility during the several days it will take for the repairs to be made which necessitates the building-wide closure from December 19-27. The professionals who are contracted to perform this work are expecting up to 7 work days to complete the project.

For Y members who utilize our pools for exercise and fitness areas for their workouts, we are coordinating with Island Health and Fitness to accommodate your needs as follows:

• For swimmers, Y members will be able to use 3 of their specified lap lanes.
• For fitness workouts, Y members will be able to use Island's Community Corners location at no charge. As another option, Y members would be able to use the downtown Island Fitness location on a discounted day pass at 50% of the regular rate.
• Y members are requested to bring their YMCA scan tags to verify Y membership. Y members will need to adhere to Island Fitness policies and guidelines, and consult Island's website for schedules and hours of operation.

Additionally, we encourage those who haven't yet tried YMCA360 to check it out! Hundreds of streaming videos on exercise, wellness, sports skills, at-home crafts and more are available from anywhere & for free with your YMCA membership.

The front desk of the YMCA will be open and available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm (except December 26th as we are closed) for registrations, questions or any necessities our members may have.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this necessary shutdown and hope that you are excited and ready to return to your YMCA on December 28.
