Membership Rates

Capital Improvement Fee (CIF):

All Adult, Senior, and Household Memberships will pay a Capital Improvement Fee upon activation of their membership. This fee will be charged to all accounts when reactivating, even past members of the Ithaca YMCA, both in person and online when joining.

The CIF is $35 for individual memberships and $50 for household memberships.

The CIF is non-refundable.

Membership Types:

Annual memberships are available but must be applied for in person at our Welcome Center. Annual memberships are purchased in full at time of sign up, and do not allow for early cancelation or refund.

The YMCA does not offer flat-rate 90-day membership options.

The three-month options listed below are perpetual draft options. No flat rate 90 day memberships are available at this time.

To receive any discounts, you must provide appropriate verification to the Welcome Center staff during your first visit.

Membership Options
Monthly Perpetual Bank Draft (Sign-up online or in person):
This is our most popular membership option. Your membership will automatically draft from your bank or credit card account on the 1st of the month or the next business day if the 1st falls on a banking holiday. The draft continues perpetually until you submit a written request to either cancel or temporarily hold the membership.
3 Month Perpetual Bank Draft (Sign-up available in person only):
3 month memberships are a great option for those looking to just pay a lump sum every three months, vs a monthly fee. The membership starts on the date of purchase, and prorated dues for the current month, on the 1st of the month the three month rate will draft. The perpetual three month draft will continue until you submit a written request to either cancel or temporarily hold the membership.
Annual (Sign-up available in person only):
Ready to make a full commitment to being part of the YMCA? An annual membership offers the greatest savings and is the perfect way to utilize funds from your HSA or flex-care account. The membership starts on the date of purchase and is valid for 1 year from that date. Temporary holds cannot be placed on this type of membership. No refunds will be issued for early cancelation of membership.
Virtual Membership
This option is for those who would like access to the collection of YMCA360 online classes and instructional videos, but don't need regular access to our facilities. For $28 a month, you'll be able to access YMCA360 anytime, from anywhere. We'll also give you four day passes per month, if you'd like to go for a swim, meet with a fitness trainer, use the gymnasium, or take advantage of any of our other on-site offerings.
Ways to Save
Health Insurance Reimbursement:
Many health insurers are recognizing the benefits of an active lifestyle by reimbursing for some or all of your membership dues. Contact your insurance company to inquire if your plan participates and what their requirements are.
The YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County is not a participating member of Silver Sneakers.

Active First Responders | 10% | Applies to any active, employed or volunteer law enforcement officer, paramedic, EMT, firefighters, and emergency dispatchers. Proof of employment or service is required and must be renewed annually or upon membership renewal. |
Active Military or Veteran | 10% | Applies to any active service member or veteran of the U.S. military or national guard. |
Community Employer Wellness Benefit | 10% | Available to any employee of a participating local business/organization. Check with a Welcome Center representative to see if your business/organization is enrolled. Proof of employment is required and must be renewed annually or upon membership renewal. |
College Student (Full-Time) | 25% | Available to any full-time student. Proof of enrollment is required (letter from school, current semester schedule). A college ID is not sufficient proof. Discount is valid for 6 months and must be renewed. |
Cornell Program for Healthy Living | $15 | Cornell employees enrolled in a qualifying CPHL plan through Aetna are eligible for this discount. The discount can only be applied to an individual or household membership on a monthly perpetual bank draft with all active members listed on the plan. A Cornell ID and Aetna Insurance card bearing the CPHL logo are required for enrollment. An employee may not utilize their CPHL at multiple facilities (i.e. at the Y and Cornell Wellness). Once eligibility is verified by Cornell, the discount will be applied starting with the first full month of enrollment. |
Lifelong | 25% | Available to current members of Lifelong. Proof of membership is required. Discount expires with expiration of membership. Eligible to those 60 and older. |
Love Living at Home | 25% | Available to current members of Love Living at Home. Proof of membership is required. Discount expires with expiration of LLH membership. Eligible to those 60 and older. |
Cayuga Medical Employees | 10% or Payroll Deduction Option | Available to current staff of CMC, staff can either get 10% off the monthly membership rate via the YMCA or enroll in the Payroll Deduction Membership option through CMC. To enroll in either plan, a staff ID must be provided. For more information on the Payroll Deduction Membership plan, please contact the Membership Director by emailing membership@ithacaymca.com |
- All discounts are removed upon lapse or cancellation of membership and any proof of eligibility will need to be presented upon renewal.
- Youth/Junior memberships are excluded from any discounts.
- The eligible individual must be an active member of the membership in order to receive a discount.
- Discounts cannot be applied retroactively.
- Members are responsible for ensuring the application and renewal of any discount.
- Discounts cannot be combined. Only 1 discount per membership unit.
YMCA 10/10 Membership Wellness Program
Employees who qualify for the YMCA 10/10 membership discount can enjoy a reduced rate on their monthly membership, making it easier to stay active and connected to our community. Employees of participating employers will receive a $20 discount off the monthly membership rate.
