Youth & Family Program Leader

Shifts: Part Time (5-10 hours per week including nights and weekends)

Hourly Rate: $15.50 per hour
Reports to: Senior Program Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under supervision from the Senior Program Director, the Youth & Family Program Leader plans, manages, and facilitates safe, high-quality, member-focused youth, teen, and family programs and activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists in developing and delivering youth, teen, and family programs.
- Compiles program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs and membership cultivation and retention.
- Secures and schedules the needed facilities and creates and schedules the programs, activities, or events.
- Helps market programs to members, program participants, and community partners.
- Create a nurturing and safe environment and report suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse.
- Designs programs that develop social-emotional skills, fosters achievement, supports academic growth, and provides enrichment.
- Ensure the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment including keeping supplies organized, maintain and clean facility and care for equipment.
- Does all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a high school degree or equivalent.
- Experience working with children.
- Creative thinker with experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programs.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with general direction.
- Must be organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build relationships with individuals and the community.
- Ability to work with diverse population.
- CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration certifications are required (YMCA will provide within the first 90 days if not currently certified).

- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
