30 minute policy:

Use of the cardiovascular equipment is limited to 30 minutes on each type when others are waiting.  This most frequently occurs during peak hours.  When you have reached 30 minutes on any one piece and you notice others are waiting, please end your workout on that machine so that another member may use it.  If there is a different type of equipment available, you may move to that for up to another 30 minutes.  We appreciate your observance of this policy.

 

Other things you should know:

  • Please carry clean, dry fitness shoes into the Y for use in the fitness, gym and childcare areas. 
  • Stretching mats are provided for your use and are located in the cardio area.
  • Many machines in our cardio area have a device for listening to the TVs.  Please bring standard headphones from home or purchase a pair at the front desk if you wish to utilize this feature.
  • Please wear appropriate attire while using our fitness areas.  This includes a shirt and sturdy shoes.  No flip flops, sandals or open toed shoes please.
  • Bath-sized towels are available for rent at the front desk for 50 cents.
  • Cleaning towels and solution are located throughout the fitness areas.  Please wipe down each piece of equipment you use, paying particular attention to where your hands have touched.
  • You may keep your fitness card in the white filing cabinet at the top of the front steps.  That way, it will always be available when you need it!
  • If you have a question, please do not hesitate to ask one of our fitness instructors!

Youth Policies:

Younger members are encouraged to use our fitness areas, too! 

YOUTH MEMBERS (ages 10-12) may use the cardiovascular equipment ONLY after two (2) mandatory orientation sessions.  Use of weight-training equipment is not permitted at this age.  A parent or guardian must make the appointments and complete the health form/waiver on the child’s behalf.

JUNIOR MEMBERS (ages 13-17) may use all fitness equipment after two (2) mandatory orientation sessions.  Juniors’ health forms/waivers must be signed by a parent or guardian. 

CHILDREN UNDER 10 are NOT allowed in the fitness area.   (Exception: infants confined to car seat or other carrier).  Please see the Front Desk for information about youth programs and childcare options.

Youth and Junior non-member guests may not use any fitness equipment.
